Robert Blake may have become the ugliest man in show business (no mean feat!) and a dodgy guy to marry if you wanna keep breathing...
...but...
...back in 1967, he starred in 'In Cold Blood', then rocked in in the '70s with his TV series 'Baretta', and more particularly
in this movie, released in 1973 and co-starring the ultimate bit-player and fall-guy Elisha Cook Jnr. ('The Maltese Falcon',
'The Big Sleep').
The director and soundtrack composer here was James William Guercio - whose only other claim to fame was that he used
to manage yawn-inspiring soft-rock band Chicago.
Weird.
Anyway, this movie kills us - and it rates as a, well, underrated classic. Brilliant. See it now. Go on!
